By taking product specifications and application requirements into account, it helps engineering and purchasing teams make informed decisions when selecting the right component.

Who is TE Connectivity?

TE Connectivity is one of the world’s leading industrial technology companies, developing connectivity technologies and sensor solutions for power, signal and data transmission. With a broad product portfolio of connectors, relays, contactors, cable protection products and sensors, it offers reliable solutions for applications in defense, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, energy and next-generation technologies.

Home to established brands such as AMP, DEUTSCH, RAYCHEM, POLAMCO, KISSLING, KILOVAC, SCHRACK, ERNI and SEACON, TE Connectivity stands out with high-performance connectivity solutions suited to demanding operating conditions. These brand names may appear on technical drawings, in product catalogs and in older purchasing records. To reach the right product and current technical documentation, it is important to use the manufacturer part number together with the brand name.

From Tyco Electronics to TE Connectivity

Tyco Electronics took the name TE Connectivity in 2011 and has continued its operations under that name. For this reason, components listed under the Tyco Electronics name on older technical drawings, in product catalogs and in purchasing records may be found today in the TE Connectivity portfolio.

When identifying current equivalents of older products, the manufacturer part number, technical specifications, production status of the product and current documentation should be evaluated together. These checks help ensure that the right component is selected and that supply processes run reliably.

Navea Electronics and TE Connectivity: from 2001 to today

Navea Electronics’ authorized distribution relationship with TE Connectivity began in 2001, when the company operated under the name Röle Teknik. The partnership started with industrial product groups at a time when the manufacturer used the name Tyco Electronics, and it continues today across a range of connectivity and component solutions.

Navea Electronics serves as an authorized TE Connectivity distributor in Türkiye and the Middle East. The distribution relationship, which expanded to a Dubai operation in 2023, also covers activities in the region through Navea Electronics FZE.

Navea Electronics contributes to engineering and purchasing processes with product selection, cross-reference and design-in support. You can explore the product groups represented on the Our Brands page.

What is the difference between an authorized distributor and an independent supplier?

An authorized distributor operates within a defined distribution relationship with the manufacturer. Independent suppliers may source products through various commercial channels. In purchasing, this distinction matters in terms of scope of authorization, manufacturer support, product origin and the documents that can be provided.

As an authorized TE Connectivity distributor, Navea Electronics works with manufacturer support and letters of authorization. It passes the certificate of conformance received from the manufacturer to its customers with shipments. Stating your project-specific documentation and traceability needs at the quotation stage helps clarify the scope of the order.

TE Connectivity products available through Navea Electronics

The TE Connectivity portfolio covers a range of needs, from making an electrical connection to protecting and installing it. In every product group, selection should be based on the requirements of the application and the technical documents of the relevant part.

Connectors

Connectors provide electrical connections for power, signal and data transmission. TE Connectivity’s AMP and DEUTSCH brands offer product families for different application requirements.

When selecting a connector, the number of contacts, current and voltage requirements, mounting type, termination method to the cable or circuit board and operating environment should be evaluated together. For a compatible connection, the mating part, contact type, contact plating, locking structure and required accessories should also be selected according to the product’s technical data.

For the basic selection criteria, see our guide what is a connector and how to choose one.

Relays and contactors

TE Connectivity’s SCHRACK, KILOVAC and KISSLING brands offer relay and contactor solutions for different switching needs.

When selecting a relay, the rated coil voltage and AC/DC supply type, contact arrangement, type of load to be switched, current and voltage requirements, mounting type and operating temperature should be evaluated together.

The coil supply and the load circuit switched by the contacts should be considered separately. The coil should be selected to suit the control circuit, while the switching capacity of the contacts should be verified from the product’s technical data for the relevant load type and AC/DC operating conditions.

In maintenance or when looking for an equivalent, the full code and technical document of the existing product form the basis for comparison. For more information, see our relay selection guide.

Cables

When selecting cable and wire, operating voltage, current to be carried, conductor cross-section, insulation material, operating temperature and flexibility needs should be evaluated together. In power, data and signal transmission, application-specific requirements shape the product selection.

Sharing the system in which the cable will be used, its fixed or moving conditions of use, the mechanical and environmental effects it will be exposed to and the standards it must meet makes it easier for us to identify the right product for your application together.

Heat shrink products and adhesives

TE Connectivity’s RAYCHEM product family offers heat shrink solutions for electrical insulation, protection of connections and cable harness applications.

Selection should evaluate single or dual wall construction, shrink ratio, inner diameter values before shrinking and after full recovery, operating temperature range and sealing requirement together.

The product size should be selected so that it can pass over the part to which it will be applied and provide the required fit when shrunk. To achieve the intended protection, the product’s technical data and the manufacturer’s installation instructions should be taken as the basis.

For product types and areas of use, see our heat shrink tubing guide.

Terminals and splices

AMP terminals and FASTON quick-connect solutions are among TE Connectivity’s terminal and conductor splicing products. These products are used to connect conductors to equipment or to each other.

Selection should evaluate wire cross-section, conductor structure, terminal material and plating, connection geometry and the application tool to be used together. In crimp connections, the wire, tool and die combination specified by the manufacturer for the relevant terminal or contact should be used, and the application should comply with the crimp dimensions and acceptance criteria defined by the manufacturer.

Labeling and marking

Marking cables, connections and equipment accurately and legibly makes identification and tracking easier in production, assembly and maintenance processes. Printable marking sleeves, labels and related printing solutions are used for this purpose.

Selection should evaluate whether the marking material suits the operating temperature, the chemicals it will be exposed to and the environment of use. To preserve the legibility and durability of the print, the material, printer and ribbon combination recommended by the manufacturer should be taken as the basis.

Cable protection and management

Cable protection and management products help organize and route cable harnesses and protect them against mechanical effects.

When selecting products and accessories, the diameter of the cable harness, fixed or moving conditions of use, required bend radius, risk of abrasion and operating temperature range should be evaluated together. The selected protective structure should support cable movement and bending within the limits permitted by the application.

EMI and EMC solutions

Shielding products for reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) are selected according to the requirements and operating conditions of the system. The cable shield, connector body and shield termination method should be evaluated together.

Sharing the product family in use, the part number if available, the operating environment and the targeted shielding requirement makes it easier to evaluate the right solution for your application.

Application tools and harness design software

Crimp tools, applicators, dies and contact insertion or extraction tools are used to apply connectivity products in line with manufacturer instructions. Tool selection should be based on the full part number of the terminal or contact and the relevant application specification. The cross-section and conductor structure of the wire to be used in crimping should also be evaluated.

TE Connectivity’s HarnWare software, on the other hand, is a harness design software that supports the preparation of cable harness assembly drawings, connection diagrams and bills of materials.

Finding the right product with a TE Connectivity part number

The manufacturer part number, or MPN, is the most direct way to identify the requested product. While the name of a product family describes the general need, the full part number leads to the specific product and its technical documents.

Some products may appear with more than one identifier. For example, on TE Connectivity’s RT424024 product page, the RT424024 relay is matched with the number “TE Internal #: 6-1393243-8”. These do not indicate two different equivalent products, but different identifiers of the same relay.

You can share both known codes in your quotation request. It is important to keep the code in the form it has on the label or technical document and to pass on prefixes, suffixes, letters and hyphens in full. Since the numbering structure may vary by product family, codes should not be completed by guesswork.

Correct Product Selection and Alternative Product Support

Selecting an alternative for electronic and electromechanical components is not limited to the part number or physical similarity. Electrical properties, mechanical compatibility, operating conditions and technical requirements should be evaluated together to determine solutions suited to the application.

Navea Electronics, with its experienced sales engineers, provides its customers with technical support in cross-reference, alternative product selection and design-in processes. From identifying alternatives to existing products to selecting the right component in new projects, it supports engineering and purchasing teams.

Technical information such as the number of contacts and environmental conditions for connectors, coil voltage and load values for relays, and diameter and protection requirements for heat shrink tubing plays an important role in identifying the right product.

Manufacturer certificate of conformance and traceability

Navea Electronics passes the Certificate of Conformance received from the manufacturer to its customers with shipments. Also known as a CoC, this certificate is part of the product documentation.

If your project requires a specific certificate, test report or traceability record, stating your need at the quotation stage helps you clarify the scope of the documents to be provided before ordering.

You can find information about Navea Electronics’ approach to documentation and quality on the quality page.

Quotation and Stock Inquiry for TE Connectivity Products

To receive a fast and accurate quotation for TE Connectivity products, it is important to share the full part number of the product, the requested quantity and the target delivery date. The area of use, technical requirements, product documents if available, alternative product preferences and the documents needed also help the quotation process run more efficiently.

Where the product code is not known, a technical evaluation can be made based on the product photo, label information, dimensions and application details. With the support of its sales engineers, Navea Electronics assists its customers in identifying the right product, evaluating alternatives and inquiring about current price, stock and lead time information.
